Year 2013 has just started now so it’s right time to make some prediction for 2013. I have done some study on the activities happened in online world in last one and a half year, my all prediction is based on this analysis only.
Prediction #1
Google Major Algorithm Update – If you analyze last two year of Google Search Algorithm then you will notice that Google is more strict towards providing more relevant search result to end user and to implement it Google Has released to major Algorithm change (Panda in 2011 & Penguin in 2012).
I am very much sure that Google will continue this trend and soon it will release another major algorithm change. We may see this major change most probably by the end of April 2013.
Prediction #2
Top 5 Social Media sites for 2013- Social Media sites will be first choice for Online Marketer as this is easiest way to reach targeted audience/customer.

Prediction #3
More Meta Keyword from Google- Google may release couple of more Meta Keywords (like rel= “Author”).
Google is working towards more systematic approach to make content and its original source authentic. That’s why they have introduced Authorship and Author Rank concept.
My prediction is Google will introduce some more similar constraints in this year.

Prediction #4
Authorship/Author-Rank will play an important role in blog/website Ranking
We all know that Google is putting more emphasis on ‘Authorship’ and ‘Author Rank’. ‘Google will release one major search algorithm change that will indicate the importance of ‘Author Rank’ in ranking of a website or blog.
Author rank will work as credit system for content created by a specific Author.
It might be possible that top writer with high Author rank will get more business as paid content writing.
Prediction #5
Page UI and Loading time will also matter
As we have seen that last year Google release an algorithm update ‘Page layout’, this algorithm was all about putting content on right place and ads on respective place.
It was an attempt to provide content on top of pages to reader instead of ads.
We can see some more UI related guidelines from Google this year.
Page loading time will always be a ranking factor. More and more people are coming to online world (more blogs and website taking birth every day) so web server is going to be more over loaded.  It’s an advice that you must choose your web hosting company wisely as your page load time depend upon the web server load as well.
Prediction #6
Anchor Text will be on Radar
It is one of those predictions that can create an earth quake in the online world. Google has released an algorithm change that was against exact match ‘Anchor Text’ and we can see some more guidelines/algorithm change about ‘Anchor Text’.
It’s a prediction that Google will lower the importance of Anchor Text and it will give more importance to relevancy of link with the content around it.
Prediction #7
Site navigation will help in improving Site Authority
It’s my own gut feeling that site navigation going to play important role while deciding your site authority. Site with Easy and seamless navigation will get better site authority rank and sites with broken links and poor navigation may have to pay price for it.
